TECEC
Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition

The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life. More than ever foundations, businesses, providers, universities, advocates, community groups and organizations are coming together to build a statewide network supporting high-quality early care and education and to provide a unified vision and plan for early childhood in Texas.

Texas early education advocates worked hard during the 81st Texas Legislature , securing a total $65 million invested in early care and education.  With your support, we will build on these successes during the upcoming 82nd Legislature in 2011!

Statewide and nationally, exciting things are happening in early care and education.  The Obama administration is calling for an $8 billion investment in state pre-k programs over the next 8 years, and Texas added an additional $25 million to our public pre-k program in 2009.   Support for early education among business leaders and policymakers have never been greater.

Our statewide, broad-based Coalition brings ONE strong voice to the Capitol on issues affecting early care and education. Help build this Coalition by joining with us in support of children and families in Texas. Please review our guiding principles and The Texas Plan , our 10 year public policy agenda. If you agree that our youngest Texans deserve a high-quality early education then please join our coalition!
