TECEC
Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition

The mission of the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition is to build a system of quality early care and education that prepares children in Texas for success in their education and life. Our statewide, broad-based Coalition brings ONE strong voice to the Capitol on issues affecting early care and education. Texas early education advocates worked hard during the 81st Texas Legislature, securing a $65 million investment for early care and education, including $25 million added to our public pre-k program.  With your support, we will build on these successes during the upcoming 82nd Legislature in 2011!

Statewide and nationally, exciting things are happening in early care and education.  The House Committee on Technology, Economic Development and Workforce, under the Chairmanship of Mark Strama will be working on an interim charge related to the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG). In addition, President Obama has proposed a $1.6 billion increase to the CCDBG which would serve an additional 235,000 children in the United States.

Support for early education among business leaders and policymakers have never been greater. Please review our guiding principles  and The Texas Plan , our 10 year public policy agenda. If you agree that our youngest Texans deserve a high-quality early education then please join with us!
